Openly carrying firearms is illegal in Florida, but state law makes a few exceptions, including one that allows open-carry while hunting, camping or fishing, and while going to and from those activities. Taylor tests this law time and again

But if you're in Florida then you're not publicly carrying, so what exactly is your point?

He definitely acts like a jackass, but the cops are 100% in the wrong detaining him and taking his weapon

It should be perfectly normal to see someone carrying a rifle, being publicly armed should not be left up to the government.

While i don't necessarily agree with his tactics, I do find these videos hilarious that people who are open carrying freak out over other people open carrying, just because they don't have that magical piece of tin as if it grants super powers or something.

It truly is amazing that we let people that have no knowledge of the laws enforce the laws.

The guy is not doing anything illegal and he’s getting to be well-known in areas of Florida. The police will even reference his other videos during these encounters but they just can’t help themselves.

If people don’t like the idea that you can open carry while fishing or traveling to/from a fishing spot, blame the politicians in Florida who created the law. This isn’t a case where a guy is using a loophole or something; the law actually states that it’s legal to do what he’s doing. He’s not brandishing the weapon and has a friendly demeanor to the citizens he interacts with.

These are the same police who we expect will respect our right to own firearms.

Idiots enforcing the law who don't even know the law themselves are the real problem.

Don't like the laws? Get them changed. Until then, the laws should be enforced as written.

As long as you also feel that way about a dude waiving his wanker in the ladies’ section of a spa in California, which, because he identifies as a woman, is totally legal under California law.

Or maybe . . .

Both laws are stupid, and the cops are doing the best they can.

Fine with me. The people in the Communist republic of California get what they vote for.

Not relevant. Laws should be enforced as written.

Did the cops swarm that person with firearms drawn and aimed at the person? Was that person arrested based solely on the feelings of some other customers?

Either he broke a law or he did not, and it does not sound like he broke any Florida law. In that case, those cops should be ashamed of themselves and punished for their harassment of a law-abiding citizen.

No surprise it was a woman cop who stopped him.
