Battery powered (not electric) vehicles

Said vehicles are not electric. They run off a battery just like countless other battery required devices.

Do we refer to flashlights as electric? Nope. What about: smoke detectors, phones, laptops, tablets, tv remotes, cameras, watches, etc.

Electric implies a sense of permanency and stability but battery implies temporary. Further, rarely if ever is the battery version of it's true electric counterpart as strong.

Everyone knows that anything battery powered will run out of power, must be continually charged and eventually the battery itself will have to be replaced.

Words matter.

And what do those batteries store?

You’re right. Electric would imply an invisible extension cord like what Nikola Tesla was working on before the black hats got to him.

You got them now, shut it all down. For what it's worth, I don't see myself ever owning an electric, battery powered vehicle, other than my fuel powered ones that use battery power for secondary systems. However, this is a stupid take.

It technically isn’t gas that powers a car either. The combustion of an air/fuel mixture ignited by an electrical spark.

The motor is what powers the vehicle, and the motor is electricity powered

re: Battery powered (not electric) vehicles
So when you install two batteries into a remote control, what flows from the pole of one battery to the other? Electrical current.
Now take only one battery out. Why is there no power now?
Because there is no more ELECTRICAL current.
Batteries use a chemical reaction to produce ELECTRICITY, which powers the device. SO, if something uses batteries, it is powered by electricity (DC)....
and yes, words matter..so get better at words.

You know it would be interesting if we built an electrified rail on major highways you could connect an EV too so it wouldn’t use battery. Think similar to how bumper cars work

Couple things here....

A) Remind me again what it is batteries produce?

B) Are you implying we should be driving around in cars with extension cords?

The correct term is BEV but few people use it.
