Baton Rouge seems to be sprawling out towards the south east to escape crime from the north. But most of the areas below i-10 are in a flood zone or barely above the flood zone. Seeing all this expansion down Burbank makes me wonder what that area will look like in 20 years. Does OT think things will continue moving south? or will the high ground properties start to become more desired.

Move out of that shite hole. I was saved by the grace of the North and I don’t even have to lock any doors anymore.

I think that, barring a massive culture change, BR is fricked regardless well before 20 years.

It'll look like Lake Burbank if it gets more than 1.5 inches of rain in an hour.

I agree, but I dont think it will be as severe as the city becomes a war zone.

When I moved here in the 80's all the land on Burbank from Gardere to Highland went under water...

When I started at LSU in 2006 they were in the process of expanding Burbank to 4 lanes. There was nothing on Ben Hur between Nicholson and Burbank. Other than Mike Anderson's and Portobellos I don't remember there being much on Lee right there either.

The north of what?

Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, New York, Milwaukee, and so many other large and small towns in the north are absolute shitholes with much bigger problems than Baton Rouge, which I will admit is mostly a shithole

Yea, I imagine that all of that construction will start having fairly severe foundation problems within the next couple of decades.

In 2016 all the land north on Burbank across from the soccer complex was 3-5 feet below Burbank and had 6 ft of water in it.

It’s now 3-5 feet above Burbank. But don’t worry, they pulled dirt from the same flood plain so it won’t impact flooding in the area

Yea I thought 10 years ago they had too much student housing around LSU. And they didn't even utilize campus housing very much aside from some freshmen. Now its just absurd. These places will go from brand new to section 8 in a decade.

Baton Rouge is already written off. A 20 mile radius is too close.
