A part owner and former manager of Giovanni's Italian Restaurant was arrested Tuesday for allegedly allowing customers to engage in sex acts with a Gold Club dancer in a private room at the eatery.

An investigation into criminal activity at a Baton Rouge restaurant focuses on the eatery's private meeting room.

Sounds like something out of The Sopranos. I wonder if the mob was involved.

Good to know thanks!
We went to both of them frequently. Good food and, obviously, great atmospheres.

Ive done a deep dive on Madoff (former chairman of NASDAQ fyi) and what I still find equally interesting and frightening is how some sophisticated investors were all in while some immediately recognized it as a Ponzi scheme.
Any recommendations on books covering this scheme?

2) guy who owned a jewelry store on coursey @ Sherwood had paintings stolen out of his store and was busted for insurance fraud.

I was just trying to find more information about it.. As to how it all crashed down and who was actually involved. There is very little information available. The website is still available but the website address is expired.
I find this thread from the money board from 2022.
Money board
Someone was trying to defend it and then someone explained it...
Yeah id say this was a pretty big scandal that people involved was able to sweep a lot of under the table.

It’s a scam because:
1. No platform exists and may not ever exist.
2. The founders have never been publicly disclosed,
3. The founders and Moscona won’t dox their wallets so we can know if they’re pumping and dumping (which always means they are)
4. It’s set up as an LLC instead of a nonprofit.
5. The white paper is a joke, is just buzz words and contains no math.
6. They delete and block anyone who asks legitimate questions.
Yeah id say this was a pretty big scandal that people involved was able to sweep a lot of under the table.

Wait wtf happened with Vernon Roger??
In my almost 50 years, I’ve never seen a human as ravaged by alcoholism as Roger was at the near end of his life.
Me and some coworkers had lunch at his little restaurant off Bluebonnet not long before he took his life. He looked like a skelton and was stammering to even get through the financial transaction at the register. It took him 3 tries to return the due change from a $10. It was very sad to see having grown up watching him on WAFB and his cooking segments.
We just sat in silence and ate because we were all so bummed out.

After years of talking about GameCoin, delaying the platform launch, and hyping it up as a massive project, the only “platform” that dropped is the “On Fire Athletes”—basically a create your own online baseball card.
After pimping a bunch of athletes like Fournette and Jenny Finch as GameCoin endorsers, the “NIL” page for the On Fire Athletes shows no endorsers.
Quite a drastic change from Moscona’s original takes about GameCoin:
“GameCoin will be to Baton Rouge was Dell computers was to Austin Texas.”
