I need recommendations for a reputable computer repair shop in Baton Rouge. Picked up a malicious file that my virus protection is blocking. However the file won't let me remove it. Need suggestions for a good place to bring my PC in Baton Rouge to get it checked. Thank you.

Running Restore might fix it, if it allows you to do that. I've gotten rid of a few viruses that way. I'm a novice, though, so somebody here may have another/better idea.

Have you tried running Malwarebytes?

Always works for me.

Tims PC on Sherwood.

But it seems like your issue can be fixed yourself.

That's what I wanted to do. But the problem is it won't allow me to download the file. Something has things all boogered up.

Download the file on a different PC to a USB drive then install on the infected one.

On another computer download malawarebyte's companion program Chameleon on to a thumb drive.

Plug into the infected machine and follow the instruction.

Dude, format and re-install is the best method for cleaning a virus. Only way to be sure you got rid of it. Besides, your machine will run like brand new when done. I try to do this to my machines once a year anyway.
