Permian is the busiest by far. Haynesville, Marcellus Bakken are going strong and the Barnett has started seeing activity. DJ has some activity as well.

ETA South Texas is also really busy.

not necessarily everywhere I would absolutely go without getting paid and without any other compensation before I would lay anyone off. About ten years ago we went 18 months without a job and I kept everyone on and dipped into savings to keep the company afloat. in almost 20 years we’ve never missed even a single hour of anyone’s pay no matter what. In exchange for that I expect absolute loyalty and 100% commitment to the company...no matter what

Chris while you’re bragging about these stats please tell everybody you are talking about less than a dozen people or so.

Your loyalty to your employees is admirable but I don’t think your case is a good example of what happens in companies of any size in this country.

You and your brother could both pass away and 100% of your employees would be SOL also so take that into account too.

Do HR people ever get laid off?
The last large corp I worked for had a hiring freeze, then reduced headcount by 45%. Not a single person in HR was laid off, including the recruitment staff.

Survived them in 2008-2009 in the financial industry. Wasn't fun

Can relate that was an awful time. Every week the manufactoring company i worked for was letting at least 5 or 6 people go for at least 6 months straight. That experience led me to start looking at the medical industry jobs. Not that you couldnt get let go but just felt safer in this industry.

This is one of the fun parts about corporations in general.

The higher ups, support staff, admin, HR, and much of the pure overhead and dead weight in many companies are the absolute last people to get their pink slips.

It’s maddening but an unfortunate reality in many companies.

Most I see stay self employed even if their initial business didn't turn out they way they planned. I rarely see anyone self employed decide to go back to work for the "man".

Just wanted to tell you it happened to us during quarantine. My husband had 7 years at the company and was laid off (with a bunch of others) via Zoom. It sucked royally, but he found a job he loves within the month and things have never been better. I hope this is the outcome for y'all. Good luck

All of our clients were banks for the company I worked for at the time. They were folding or canceling contracts right and left. I think we lost 40-50% of our employees during that recession. I guess I'd been there roughly 5-6 years by 2008.

This is a small local company with two people who are older that own and run the place.

What I stated was not an insult or a threat. It’s just not a typical corporate business and I’m pointing out all the loyalty in the world means nothing when your business (regardless of size) goes out of business.

I blame millenials for the lack of company loyalty these days. If y’all would stay on for 40 years like boomers y’all would be family but instead y’all jump from job to job every couple years so how can y’all blame the company?

Back in our day a lay off is just another word for early retirement!
