Just leaving this here. From the CDC: quote: Men: Height (inches): 69.3 Weight (pounds): 195.5 Waist circumference (inches): 39.7 Women: Height (inches): 63.8 Weight (pounds): 166.2 Waist circumference (inches): 37.5

Are there any rational thinking people left in America who still believe in the "HCLF" or high carb, heart healthy grain, low fat diet, is good?

5'9", 195 lbs, and a 40" waist.

Jesus Christ that individual would have a fricking heart attack just running to save his own life.

And at 5'3", 166 lbs, I have a difficult time imagining how the 'average woman' in America can inspire any sort of sexual arousal from any man that is not average.

Yes folks, the Std. American Diet, as well as all of it's supporters (the AMA, the FDA, the dieticians of America) are completely full of shite.

HFLC is where it's at. EVen medical studies throughout the 20th century showed that carbohydrates are not essential to optimal human health.

Here's an article about a registered nutritionist's convention:

Text from the article:

quote:

And that wasn't all. The sessions—the real meat and potatoes of the conference—had food industry sponsors as well. The Wheat Council hosted a presentation about how gluten intolerance was just a fad, not a real medical problem. The International Food Information Council—whose supporters include Coca-Cola, Hershey, Yum Brands, Kraft, and McDonald's—presented a discussion in which the panelists assured audience members that genetically modified foods were safe and environmentally sustainable. In "Bringing Affordable Healthier Food to Communities," Walmart spokespeople sang the praises of (what else?) Walmart.

to the average male:

I'm taller, stronger, fitter, and better looking than you. Please cite multiple articles telling me that wheat is good, that gluten intolerance is a fad, and that saturated fats cause heart disease. And how much healthier I'd be if I started eating margarine and 4 servings of wheat per day, along with artificial sweeteners and plenty of GMO corn based products too.

(standard) America (diet)? frick Yeah!

And frick you bunch of shite eating lard asses.

Enjoy your hover-rounds because after 20 years of the S.A.D, you're going to need it to haul your obese, type II diabeetus afflicted unhealthy arse around.

Maybe if you drink another diet mountain dew you'll stop being so fricking fat?

Nah.

Finally had enough of being a fat arse around the end of January when I stepped on the scale and saw 276. I was bound for disability, a mobility scooter, and Disneyworld if I didn't make a change.

I wouldn't describe my diet as "high carb low fat", but I definitely eat a lot of whole grains. I probably have a 50/30/20 ratio for my carbs/protein/fat intake (ratio in calories, not mass).

I'm 6'0" and I have a 32" waist, so obviously this diet is not inconsistent with a healthy body.

Anyway, people who get all autistic about diets are pretty dumb, IMO.

Checking in.

And if those averages are accurate that's sad.

Also... Squeezing into a size 34 pair of pants does not make you a size 34. There's a bunch of bullshite in this thread.

I hold me weight well. Everyone is always shocked when I tell them how much I weigh. I don't care as long as I don't look like a fatass.
