another auditing encounter

One of the better ones I follow and actually does good work highlighting public dipshits. This one in Jena and highlights a dipshit deputy for LaSalle Parish SO. Absolutely scary this guy works for the public. Looks out of central casting

One in a series as he goes through the South, and shows dipshits in Natchez and in the state capitol in BR

Full disclosure, I have not watched and will not watch:

This type of “audit” is so stupid and a complete waste of taxpayer money. We have douchebags in all levels of society, so it should be no surprise they exist in small town governments. The “auditor” is as much or more of a douche as the dudes who dealt with him. I will go to my grave believing that if you don’t act like an ahole you won’t be treated like one in the vast majority of instances.

100% agree. These people are complete assholes. Nobody wants some douche walking through their office filming... doesn't matter if it's public or private. If someone walked in my office and started filming, we would have an issue. In public buildings such as police stations, state buildings etc, there is personal information such as SSNs, addresses, names that should not be available to the public. Additionally, some state offices such as Department of Revenue or DCFS for example don't allow access because pissed off assholes who got audited or lost their child could potentially enter looking to put a bullet in somebody.

It's just stupid and these people are assholes.

Disagree

Shows how public officials trample on your rights and disregard the law, either through ignorance or ego. I'm not seeing where this guy provoked anyone or broke any laws. Rather they just point a camera and see how people react to a legal activity. Imagine how they behave when there's no camera around.

Really?

AEC is based in NY. He went around the state to courthouses, seeing if he could take pictures of public records. To a one, they wanted money for those pictures in violation of state law. Many took signs down as a result.

So I guess he's an idiot for getting counties to follow the law and stop fleecing the public? Got it

I didn't watch but damn, for all the talk about corruption in Louisiana yall baws sure are insanely quick to chastise someone trying to ensure the public is aware of their rights. Geez.

No filming because there are SSN's and personal info visible? Seems like that's a problem that should be discussed because filming is certainly allowed in the building.

Don't ever expect or rely on public officials to actually know the law they swore to protect. These are officials paid by your tax dollars, driving a car paid by your tax dollars, working in a building paid by your tax dollars. The expectation that they don't have to answer your questions or ensure they aren't trampling your rights is insane.

I agree it's kind of annoying, but there's a reason they do it. They can possibly make bank if a police officer or official assaults them or breaks their constitutional rights. They target these small town counties/parishes because the workers there are generally dumber and not up to date on protocol.

Most of our problems are self inflicted. Very dumb voter base.

Protecting personal information is the responsibility of the employees. So if you think auditors are wrong if they can see that information, you're no better than the employee. If it's in public, you can film it.

My takeaway from auditors is how stupid people are in reaction to being filmed in public, especially public employees.

Yes, I've seen auditors that are dicks, like this guy in NC. I'm not defending them, but as a whole they do a service.

Sean of LIA just all but forced a CT State trooper to resign while investigating overtime pay.

People on this board love daddy authority, while also putting "don't tread on me" stickers on their trucks.

There are many other legal, considerate, and less "hey look at me" ways to address these issues. This is a dude looking for attention and hoping to get a quick pay day nothing more.

I get corruption should be routed (rooted?) out but why is it some vlogger from Erie county coming to Lasalle Parish? Are there no cameras in Jena?

Where are his cameras in Erie County, NYC, Washington, or Seattle. This twerp seems to hone in on unsuspecting office with the attitude of "show me a public office in the south, and I'll show you a goober."

Let the locals do their thing.
