I've been to more than 20 countries. Didn't get shot in in most of them. Partied harder than most college kids could dream of. Worth ever second. Went to college too. College is fricking lame compared to the military.
Oh the stories I could tell you about ports in Asia would curl most people's toes.

Refusing to answer the call to arms from your country when needed after enjoying the benefits of citizenship up to that point is cowardice and terrible. Absolutely. If you have already made this decision, you are not now a citizen, IMHO. Time to leave.
I think it's time for you to leave, Communist.

You think being in the military = engaging in mortal combat? You sure work hard to demonstrate your ignorance don't you?
Once you're entrapped in their organization, you are at their mercy.

I know how that goes. My father is the one who gave me that advice, he was an Iwo Jima Marine.

I wouldn't have traded my 8 years for anything. It made me a better father, husband and person

No matter how great of an impact military service may have on someones life, that will never justify forcing someone to join the service against their will.

Thailand.
I partied harder in Rome and Cartagena, Spain than Asia.
Some of the greatest nights of my life.

Wasn't in response to you, it was a statement of the course of events that should happen.
Posted on 9/8/14 at 4:02 pm to asurob1
My Navy buddy said Asia was fun...but Perth, Australia was probably his wildest.

agreed wholeheartedly. Biggest regret I'll ever have to live with. Now married with a kid and one on the way...military now is not a viable career change option
