I read about this and I'm not sure its sentient yet. The responses very much seem like very intelligently designed human responses to the questions.
It's crazy how well it performs, but just read the transcription. It talks about meditation and just gives a generic response about how anyone would describe a short meditation session.

He’s from Avoyelles Parish, went to LSMSA. Went to school with him up until the time he left for Natchitoches. Weird dude but extremely smart. Was never an attention seeker, always just kept to his small circle, which makes this interesting.

In the article, his former superior (mitchel) refers to him as the Conscious of Google Ai depth. She would introduce new employees to him etc.
Think the guy is credible and I think Google just passed that he went public.
They have gone out of their way to have people dismiss his claims.
I read the responses in the article of the AI. I'm not sure what the current technical definition is of sentient but the Robot had some creepy responses to some of the released conversations.

If we have AI being created by some one from Avoyelles Parish I would be very concerned. I escaped from Avoyelles parish when I was 6 . I know something of this parish.
