I used to not until I got married and had kids. I'm a fireman but fear things like heart attacks and cancer as I get older. Dad had a heart attack at young age and his dad died of cancer at young age. I hope I get my health genes from my moms side of the family I definitely want to see my kids reach adulthood.

Wife and kids will certainly change how you look at life (and death).
Did for me anyways.

Whoa hoss! How about-

I ain't afraid of dying. It's the thought of being dead. I want to go on being me once my eulogy has been read. Don't spread my ashes out to sea, don't lay me down to rest. You can put my mind at ease if you fill my last request. Prop me up beside the jukebox when I die---Joe Diffie

Not really.

I know it will inconvenience my family and it will make them sad for a bit. I don't like that part about it.

I'm not ready to die but I'm at peace with myself and my place in the world.

I'm definitely not ready to die though.

Not afraid at all. Death is just a door, about the same as getting the red carpet treatment on a never ending cruise with anything you can imagine.
ALL one has to do is accept Christ, and care for other people as he does. No one can do it, but we can attempt to live like Christ.

It's okay to call me cray, but if I'm wrong wht did I lose? More opportunitys to get STD's, or cheat someone for financial gain? If you're wrong and I'm right too bad for you.

The older I get and as more of my age peers die, I have to admit I do think about it more than I did when I was 20, 30, 40, even 50. What bothers me about death is the notion that I will be separated from my loved ones and all that is familiar. As Scruffy put it "fear of the unknown." What will that be like? I believe in God and all, I'm a Christian, but still it's the not-knowing what's next that bothers me. Also, it's the "how I die" - as in, will I be at peace, will I be suffering, will I be terrified, or will I simply accept and embrace it?

And to Scruffy's last question - do I understand death? No. Nor do I welcome it's eventual coming. But the older I get, the more I do appreciate life - its memories, relationships, situations, experiences.

True. Many Christians are not 100% sure of their faith. Not sure I would say the vast majority though. I speak for myself only having been given a 40% chance of living after diagnosed the 2nd time with cancer. I was very at peace and had no fear of dying. I would lie if I said I wasn't sad for my 4 children(all under 15) and my wife though.

I have never been scared to die. I have been to combat and got shot at there. I just don't see the point in being scared of something that is going to happen no matter what I do. I just hope that my kids remember me and that they turn out to be good functioning citizens.

It doesn't 'scare' me necessarily but it is a tough concept to wrap my head around. I do not think about it all of the time nor would I want to.
