Are there just too many of us?

Starting to lean toward this thought.
Everywhere I go, things are understaffed. Fast food restaurants have been that way for years now, but I'm talking more about grocery stores, health clinics, retail stores, gas stations.
People standing in lines, just generally waiting. And some of the workers are not great, but for the most part they are working fine. They aren't rushing like crazy, but they are working.
Sometimes I feel like people get the idea that things were better in the nifty fifties because the population was significantly smaller. You could talk to someone at a store and they could provide customer service without feeling they were neglecting their job.
Maybe it's depression, but everywhere I go I feel like everything is really unextraordinary, particularly when you consider how much things cost.
Dear Nextdoor.

Nah, we just have an assload of morons running around in society that either don't work or just frick up everything they touch, including their own lives.

Everything slows down when you’re depressed.

I feel the exact opposite. And the attitudes of some are just terrible.

Yes. That's why I'm pro choice.

wasn't a problem until covid. Now practically nowhere is regularly staffed.

I hate labeling metal thought patterns as persistent conditions like “depression,” but it could definitely be a negative thought loop your mind is stuck in. Been there!

The trend over the past 70 years looks pretty unremarkable...

Yah in the planets history people would die by the wayside and things turned out fine. Now there is some narrative that “all human life is precious” when that is simply not true. Now we cater to those weaker individuals even if they contribute nothing and are parasites on the rest of society

We are giving people too much money to do nothing.

I'm sure that's part of it. I believe another large part is the bottom tier quality of worker that would generally work at a fast food restaurant got free money to sit on their arse for 2 years and haven't gone back to work. Don't ask me what they're currently doing now that stimulus has dried up because I have no idea.

Better hope our tax paying population grows faster or you have zero chances of collecting social security
