I found it really underwhelming if not outright disappointing. The weird rotational screens to see famous players instead of just traditional displays was basically the museum with a few modern memorabilia items thrown in.
Fernbank Natural History museum is really cool, I used to love to going there as a boy. World of Coca Cola is also a good place to go.

The High is a solid fine arts museum. I haven't walked the permanent collection in a while.
Fernbank is likewise a solid natural history museum like any major city should have.
CFB museum is just ok, but worth doing once. I wouldn't bother with Coke. Tellus isn't close but is good for kids. Booth Western Art museum is great but not close either.

This.
I’m a museum lover, but the Atlanta aquarium trumps a museum visit. Been to several across the country and Atlanta’s blows them away - it’s fricking huge. They have a tank with a couple whale sharks. If I remember correctly, the Coca Cola museum is right by it as well.

Cyclorama...if it's still open.

Isn't the CFB hall of fame in ATL now?

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights
The National Center for Civil and Human Rights, which opened in 2014, is a museum and human rights organization in Atlanta that inspires people to tap their own power to change the world around them. The Center’s iconic exhibitions feature the papers and artifacts of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; the history of the US civil rights movement; and stories from the struggle for human rights around the world today.

It is, but it's now at the Atlanta History Center (which is actually one of the best run museums in Atlanta)

Atlanta History Center has a cyclorama of the Battle of Atlanta which is pretty neat to see. You can also tour the Swann house which is on the property.
ETA: didn’t see the above post. Yes it is open, I visited it a few weeks ago
