I think some of this is selection bias. Asians in the US are but a few of billions who crossed an ocean to attend college, start a business, etc. We are getting a lot of their best and brightest in some ways.

I would not say genetics. I would say more along the lines of evolution and breeding based on your environmental settings.
Black, white, Asian, Indian..regardless it's not a racist thing it's an evolution of your race or mixing of race from where you came from and years of breeding and environmental circumstance affecting how you adapt to that areas environment and social atmosphere.
IMO in the future (way in he future) many definitions of "race" will fade away as the world as we know it becomes "smaller" and more accessible
