Are healthcare workers "brave"?
I respect and appreciate what nurses and doctors do, just like any other profession... I have a lot of healthcare workers in my family. But why are they put up on such a high pedestal as if they are equivalent to marines in WWII.

Because it’s a bunch of women. You have to coddle them.

Some are and some aren't, but not for the reasons you are thinking.

They shouldn’t be.

I can’t say I would have wanted to deal with what most of them have had to deal with for the last year.

They go to work to do their job same as anyone else. Are they brave for doing so? I would say no.

Just like cops. Wouldn’t call a healthcare worker or a cop brave

Teachers and nurses have fought each other for the "hero" mantle throughout this entire episode moreso than ANY other profession. Sounds odd...until you look at the general demographic makeup of both professions

Healthcare workers are doing a job, same as police, same as military.

None would do it for free out of pocket, make no mistake about it.

No more brave than the janitors and porters that are doing most of the heavy lifting.

So tired of nurses and doctors patting themselves on the back while there's all sorts of people picking up/taking out medical waste, cleaning and sanitizing EVERYTHING and not saying a word about it.

Those people are the real heroes. Touching gross shite every day for not a lot of pay and then going home without putting their shoulder out of socket praising themselves. Nothing but respect for them.
