Lol.
Of course this is the most pressing need of the city right now.

So no city should ever do a single thing until the most pressing need is solved, and then the next, in consecutive, single-file order?
Impressive logic.

So how is this statue offending you? How will your life be better without it?
And second, I noticed how neither of my previous questions were answered by the supporters of tearing down statues

Look at this great American general, everyone. We should build a statue for him on the basis of his prowess as a political and military leader. His boldness is of the likes which may never be seen again in our history as a nation. He is worthy of the respect of all Americans.
That's just fricking stupid. We already have a statue of him. The question is how come some weak assed individuals like yourself are so mortified by his likeness being 100 feet up in the air that we have to spend scarce tax dollars on court costs, removal, and replacement.
We have real issues to be working on.

Whaaaaat...
I was poking fun at people like strong safety who are triggered by him by saying we should just make a new one after.
I'm 100% against taking down the statues and 100% against using taxpayer money for anything stupid like that.

New Orleans businessman blew up the levees in Plaquemines Parish in The Great Flood of 1927. They promised to reimburse the parish residents for their loss. Since they never paid the sharecroppers a lot of them were "free men of color"fairly this needs to be fixed as soon as possible!!!
Due to this action the State needs
to doze down all the buildings in the City of New Orleans because of their racist actions against these free men of color and immigrants who made their livings off the land destroyed. Every citizen especially the SJW and white liberals of the city also needs to pay every ancestor of these plaquemines parish residents fairly for their ancestors loss plus interest. They also need to pay the present day residents of Plaquemines Parish.
If we are going to undo all the wrongs that happened in history let's do it right!

I wonder if Philippe II owned slaves. We know about Code Noir, so it might be safe to assume he did. It's obvious now that "New Orleans" itself is racist, and needs a new name.
And the fleur de lis has to go too. We need a new Saints symbol.

whats the over/under on number of thugs killed at the removal process by some turf war that these monuments have obviously caused?

No brah. You're shameful. Taking these statues of my forefathers down is doing nothing but further dividing this county.

He also did more for post-war race relations in the South than almost anybody else until at least the First World War.

To do otherwise would make it appear that you're glossing over the city's greatest needs. The city has a massive crime problem and people are dying every week.
Meanwhile Landrieu is focused on 150 year old statues. Tell me that statues are more important...
Also, what's next on the cleansing of the city's history? The removal of the bourgeoisie symbol of the city (fleur de lis)? The racist and genocidal depiction of the tyrant of Jackson Square? What about the identification and glorification of Iberville and Bienville (both slave holders)?
I mean perhaps we should remove all dollar bills that show Jefferson and Washington (also slave holders).
Your logic fits well into the above proposals...

Perhaps we should start with the African leaders that allowed their people to be sold into slavery.

The only thing I really care about in regards to these statues is the money. This will cost millions of dollars to remove, transport, store and erect new statues in their place. Our pipes and roads are in shambles and we always hear it's too expensive to fix. If we are broke how do we waste millions on this that will have ZERO positive impact on the city and its citizens.

Not reading this whole thing but has anyone mentioned:
Culture
Removing the statues will solve the crime issue...
Culcha
NOLA is so dirty, I prefer Opelousas or Tioga

...but that's the entire point. Addressing infrastructure and other problems of the city is hard.
Riling people up to remove statues is easy, and keeps people focused on the easy issue instead of the hard ones.

Why would anyone want to take down Jackson?
He saved New Orleans in the war of 1812 and was dead before the civil war.
