Anyone still wear long socks casually?

I submit there are few things worse than putting on a pair of long socks early in the morning
No socks or ankle socks FTW
I’d rather embarrass myself wearing ankle socks with a suit than go through the process of pushing my legs through nice looking PVC pipes just so my shoes look good with my pants

I do. The back of my ankles were getting screwed up by the friction between the shoe and my skin, so long socks help with that.
And ever since I started wearing long socks, I've embraced the look.

Yes, calf length athletic socks fit so comfortable under long pants. Those same socks also look fine when crumpled down around the ankle when wearing shorts.

My wife practically has an aneurysm when I do that. I feel like a high school girl trying to sneak out of the house with a mini-skirt on. It isn't like I am going to dinner at Commander's Palace, nobody cares what I look like making an early morning Home Depot run. I try to explain I am trying to tone things down so I don't have to constantly rebuff the soccer mom advances but my wife sees through that shallow charade. It works no better than my attempt to remind here I am a fashion iconoclast. Something, something poor choices do not an inconoclast make.

There's a lawyer I know who doesn't wear socks with his suits. All the court personnel and other attorneys make fun of him all the time. Is this who you want to be?
