I had a Redline freestyle BMX bike. Worked all summer for it. I think my mom has it somewhere at her house.

My father collects them, he doesn't have his old bikes but he has bought plenty locally and off eBay. There is a huge collecting side behind it. I'm talking 70s-early 90s bikes

Lol so you’re gonna but a BMX bike that you will ride once, then sit in your garage for 5 years before you sell it in a garage sell, just like your last BMX bike

I got my BMX at 5 yrs old. I gave it to a younger cousin when I was 15. He gave it to his son a couple years ago. Still being used 38 years later.

A friend of mine called me up a few months back. He was in Pierre Part and saw some guy on a mongoose.

He actually stopped and talked to the guy. It was from the 1990s. He said it was chrome and blue. Looked brand new. Evidently the guy had a few fixed up. That is all I can offer you on this topic.

Why would someone just randomly call out of the blue to tell you he saw someone in Pierre Part riding a mongoose?

Because he called to tell me something else... And was like "dude check this out....." It was a "oh by the way".

Got a Schwin Phantom Scrambler that I got in 1982. Through the 80s and early 90s I upgraded the gooseneck/handle bars, seat, cranks, sprocket, as well as ACS 48 Z-rims. Still have it. It’s built to last. Found some new Comp 3 tires for it a year ago. My son rides it now.

Wanted this bad boy so bad in the early 80’s. Couldn’t afford it so I added as many accessories as I could to my existing bike to make it look like it. By the time I was finished my parents realized they should’ve just bought me the Redline.

I had an old chrome Diamondback that I recently threw away. It sat out in the weather for about 6 months but was in great condition before that. I should have looked into selling it.

I had a Mongoose Californian, i think the model year was 1984.. Receiving that as a gift still ranks up there as one of the best days of my life.. Upgraded a couple years later to a Redline, and it was nice- but there’s nothing like your first, and that Mongoose was special.

Yes. 1985 or '86 Diamondback Super Streak all original except for a Hutch laid back seat post and CW freestyle handle bar.

My BIL has a sweet Haro that I'm getting. Plan on restoring and riding then passing down to my youngest son when he's older.
