Looking to install one on my ‘03 Silverado 6.0L. Is it hard? Easy? Any preferred kits?

I’m going to hack it, turn it on late at night, and let it run so you wake up ready to go to work out of gas.

My brother in law just did it on a 2016 f150. He said it took like 20 minutes tops. Seems happy with it so far last I talked to him.

I'll try to figure out what brand he got. Granted 2003 is a little older so it may require other parts, but I would think not.

Don’t meant to hijack but I had a buddy that installed one on his truck. It was a 98-2000ish Toyota Tacoma with a manual transmission. We were riding in my truck back from a job and he had fell asleep. I decided to mess with him and hid his keys. When we got back to my house he started looking for them and I was pressing buttons making his truck honk and beep. Apparently I hit the correct combo to start the truck which happens to be left in gear. He had overrode the safety feature that would have kept it from cranking. So the truck starts trying to crank in gear, it’s bouncing like it’s on hydraulics. Ends up running off into the pond in my yard. Totaled the truck and I felt bad but it was extremely funny

I paid someone to install one of those viper alarms plus remote start a long time ago when cars didn't come with that stuff already.

Worked just fine.

Used a Fortin-EVO brand on my Jeep. No issues and easy install. Uses your existing key fob so the range is only as good as your key fob. Just push the lock button 3 times

I've had them on many vehicles, rarely use, and I live in the north. Id say save your money.

Very easy to install,. You can pick up a cellular module that allows you to start your truck, lock/unlock, and track location from your phone. The service that goes along with that is only $30 a year. Some car manufacturers charge $200-$300 a year for the same capability.
