Made the trip yesterday with the family. We stayed all day, and didn’t have my car broken into in the massive lot across from the Convention Center. Spent 2 more hours eating at Rock n Sake on Fulton with my car parked on the street with similar success. I guess I’ll go buy lotto tickets this week.
The only thing I picked up was a hand sized game console (hdmi outs to the TV) where a software engineer decided to go off on his own and set up emulation for 8 machines and have 8,000 video games pre-installed. 2,000 or so were the Arcade versions; not the poor replicas many of the consoles created. Four player Gauntlet with unlimited lives? Check.
Console site: skretrogaming It’s great if you travel a lot for work because you can pack it with you on the road.
Lots of interesting people walking around there. Tall Batman, Fat Batman, Short Batman, to name a few.
Some Star Trek fan groups were setup and I took a spin in a replica of Kirk’s bridge chair.
Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Sean Astin, Henry Winkler and a handful of Stranger Things actors were there.

Everyone talking about murders and break-ins.
I guess the criminals didn’t mess with the nerd convention.

Criminals want weapons and "soccer mom" SUVs. Much easier for them to target NBA and NFL games than it is to hit a ComiCon.
Kinda like if my kid wanted to learn about aeronautics it would make more sense to send them to Space Camp and not Football Camp.

My sister and nephew went. Little dude loved it. Crazy world I don't get, but it was cool to see him so excited. Nerd on little bro.

It was Eddie, the chick who was killed in front of Eddie in his uncle’s trailer, and the kid who played younger Vecna in the flashbacks to the old house.

If you don't have a truck or a high-end SUV, you won't have any problems usually. They hit trucks for guns and cash and SUV's for designer goods (according to NOPD we spoke with after my son's truck was hit for the 3rd time in a year and 1/2 living uptown). It's all juveniles doing it on behalf of adults/gangs. Nothing happens to them but a slap on the wrist if that. They don't even investigate or look for anyone.
