If so how has the efficiency been on running it per month ?

They family that we purchased the house/pool disconnect the heat pump and put it in the attic and that’s where it’s stayed.

I don’t keep it on all the time just the day of - we have a small pool so it doesn’t take long to heat up.

Huh? A pool heat pump averages 300 lbs and is the size of a AC unit. That's stored in your attic?

It is the best way to heat a pool in most regions of the US. Where are you located?

AquaCal is the brand that you want. Made in USA

Running the heat continuously sounds like a huge waste unless you plan to be in that pool 300+ days a year.

Thinking about putting a heat pump in but to cool the pool in the summer rather than heat it in the winter.

Our pool hits 100 degrees in July easily.

No it doesn't, unless you have one of those kiddie pools from Walmart.

I have one. Will allow me to turn pool to 95 degrees, but it never gets there (prob cause it's infinity and losing heat at waterfall).

If i want pool hot as possible, it takes a couple days.

*mine is larger than a 5 ton AC.

It's surprisingly cheap. We will use it for the hot tub in the winter and then to heat the pool up in march and April when the weather is nice enough to sit by the pool but the water temp is too cold.

I ran it for a full month thinking it would be like a thermostat- cheaper to maintain a constant temp than to heat up a cold pool sporadically.

Electric/Gas bill was about double so frick that.

Mines a gas one that works pretty well. I did hear of a guy with an electric heater that he hooked up to some solar panels to run just the heater. Sounded like a good idea but don’t know what it cost.

I just run mine as needed. Takes 5-6 hours to warm up to a decent temp

Subtle... very subtle.

Maybe not 100 but there were times this past summer where our pool was pushing 94-95°. It felt like a freaking hot tub.

We keep our pool at 85 degrees from October to April/May. 400,000 btu gas heater. Costs around $90 per month.

The heat pumps are much cheaper to run than the gas heaters

It’s a walk in attic. That’s where the seller stored it, I’m not moving it.
