I made the switch about a month ago.

Whole-house generator is taking care of the rest. Only problem (though most would consider it a good thing) is that I can't do any work because my workplace doesn't have power, so I can't access the server. The Breaking Bad rewatch is going well, though.

Yeah, if his neighbors have power and he doesn't then it probably a structure issues

Correct.. It could be his breaker's tripped, he's got a limb on his service that took the riser down, or he's the only customer served by a transformer that's damaged or fuse is blown. Could be a lot of things.

What do the small purple boxes on the Entergy outage map represent? I can't find a legend on the map.

If its what I am thinking of, I think you just click on them and it pops up. I've been checking a friends area for them, which has a blue triangle, but it doesn't give a timeframe estimate yet.

Edit: Yes, its like a cluster of people in a confined area that don't have power and it indicates (example: 2,000 customers without power, etc.). and they give a little description about what they are doing to fix it and typically give a time estimate but I have learned that during hurricanes when they are really stretched thin they don't give a lot of time estimates.

Try clicking on "location" button.

Here are the meanings:
quote:

Purple square = 1-50 customers
Orange hexagon = 51-250 customer
Blue triangle = 251+ customers
Grey star = multiple outages

I’d check with Entergy. Hell, I’m with DEMCO, and I get outage alerts via texts with updates on estimated time for power to be restored. I even have the DEMCO app on my phone. Surely Entergy offers this service.
