Another tipping thread. Legal advice

So my parents ate at a waffle house recently and the bill was 19 dollars. My dad paid with a credit card and didn't total the zero tip as my mother left cash on the table. Waitress added 40% tip.

Call the Waffle House and attempt to get it removed. If they won’t, call the CC company and file a dispute.

All I will tell you is the waitress was of different ethnicity than them.

I'd call the restaurant and say you $0 the tip because you left cash. If they don't help you, file a dispute, although I'm not sure if you can just dispute a certain amount.

simple, file a dispute with the CC company/bank, whatever and let it go.

Yes he is getting old. And rarely pays for anything. So it is his fault IMO. But that doesn't mean what the waitress did was right either

but no man, just because he forgot to total anything doesn't give the waitress carte blanche to add anything to the bill. I've done that before and the assumption is/should be that the total for the meal is it. Period.

If they don’t refund, go back and order a lot of food, say it all sucks, then get it removed from the ticket via manager
