The richest places in the U.S. keep getting richer.
Whether it's Palm Beach or Fisher Island in Florida, or the hamlet of Atherton in California’s Silicon Valley, millionaires and billionaires are paying a premium to live next to each other.
The pandemic has only accelerated a trend that was prevalent even before Covid-19 hit, pushing up home values in the most elite enclaves on Bloomberg’s annual ranking of the U.S.’s richest zip codes.

I get that is a metric, but housing price is only part of the equation.
Homes in Texas can be built a ton cheaper than elsewhere. Not just labor and land costs, but things like the windows, no basement, less insulation needed, there are just fundamental cost differences.
It might be more accurate to use another metric.

I will take "places I never want to live"
There is nothing wrong with being rich, but living among them is awful.

77010 for HTX is a bit of a head scratcher.

I've never understood this. Unless they were all just born with the money and never put the work into it to keep their status.

I lived in Palo Alto for a while. I Definitely contributed to its numbers. That’s where I got my first big break

Probably because I screwed up and didn't notice that it is based on AGI

Looks like this list is based on current income and I think 90210 is a lot of “old money”.
Also, a lot of the mega LA properties (like the $20m plus homes) are up in the hills and that’s the 90077 area code.

maybe they’ve lost sight of what value there is to be had from a business friendly economy due to not needing to grind out money for any real purpose and instead want to vote for things they think can change the world for the better
never mind that it often doesn’t change the world for the better and charities exist for them to pursue if they wanted to adopt a more equitable existence
The Tigers still have room in the 2021 recruiting class.
