Just make an effort to choose healthier foods and drinks each day.

Choose drinks like water, black coffee, sweet tea over sugary drinks.

Cut out processed foods.

Meal prep can help avoiding situations where you're out of the house and can't find anywhere healthy to eat.

Very simply approach: it’s natural, eat it (fruit, veggies, eggs, beans). If it is manufactured and can sit on the shelf for months, don’t eat it. Don’t eat fried food and lay off the carbs (bread).

#1. Low low low sugar.
#2. No high carb/starchy foods after lunch. No rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, fricking cheeze-its, etc... Meat and veggies for dinner, always.
#3. If you have a salad with a nice hunk of protein atop for gods sake don't cover it in ranch. Use a damn vinaigrette.

I’m sure it isn’t a huge difference if you aren’t eating a lot, but protein and veggie snack before bed would be better

Rice and potatoes are excellent, maybe not for the average person (fat and following fad diets) but for athletes, it’s essential.

Portion control and exercise.

Eat whatever you want, but exercise, and don't eat a lot.
For one week, actually measure your food and eat the recommended amount. (on the label or box, whatever)

You'll be amazed at what a serving actually looks like.

Fad diets are ridiculous.

Yes, they work in the short-term, anything does.

People have to decide what they want to do for their entire life, not just six months of eating whatever they saw on Oprah.

Limit bread and potatoes- hard when you love burgers
Avoid sugar

Keep salt to minimum

Don't smoke.....smoking ultimately makes you lazy and you become a load, especially if you are a man.

I intermittently fast and have servings of fruits and veggies with my two meals.

Have variety of colors with your fruits and veggies.

alternate between 16:8 and 18:6 intermittent fasting.

typical meals are a protein (chicken or eggs or beans), green vegetable (spinach, brussel sprout, kale), and a fruit (apple or orange, usually)
