Exactly

Look at the contemporaneous reaction caught too early on camera.

You have totally lost the plot. Go back to the gaming board to continue bitching about Nintendo, nerd.

How can someone lying about whether something happened or not entitle someone else to money?

You have a car wreck.

I say you faked the car wreck.

I owe you money?

Seems overly emotional and probably won't hold up on appeal.

He wouldn't have owed that much money if he personally killed them all.

Lawyers, how much is a child's life worth in a personal injury/death case? $1 million? $2 million? I'm sure there are cases that have been settled for way less.

Plenty of ways.

Lying about someone has the potential to cost them money, reputation and generally can frick someone’s life up depending on the lie.

If the lie caused damage to a person and the lie is proven or admitted by the lying party, why shouldn’t the liar pay up?

Regardless of your opinion of the facts in this case, or of Alex Jones, this is totally ridiculous. This is further proof that people get more upset over words than actions.

We have people, corporation and governments do way more egregious things -- abhorrent ACTIONS not words -- and be penalized a fraction of this, if anything at all.

He was implying that the family members were actors playing a part in a charade. That they didn’t really lose a child, basically saying the dead children didn’t even exist. He did this repeatedly to a national audience. He kept at it even after it was obviously not true.
