Right now we use an average weight of 190 per adult for them plus a carry on in the summer and 195 in the winter.

Most of the people I see in airports are on the over side of 190.

An -800 i would guess.

My least favorite plane to fly on. Not for that reason. But I swear there's less legroom on there, and I can't stand in the bathroom stall without hitting my head and face on the ceiling. Airbus makes a more comfortable single isle plane.

Two thumbs up for this plan. If you're overweight, buy two seats or gtfo.

Middle aged business travelers are probably closer to 250 on average.

Here is how to do it. For each seat, the combined weight of a person and luggage can only be X (name your weight). That way, skinny people and kids can simply bring more luggage. Weight too much? Instead of 50 lbs of luggage, you only get 10...

How many people do you think this is compared to the average commercial air traveler?

The 320 family is a few inches wider than the 737.

There is also the fact that they keep shrinking the seats and legroom to get more people on the flight. That probably isn't helping the overall weight of the plane either. Although I do love to watch people try to wedge their giant asses between the armrests.

It doesn't matter.... a 300 lb body builder weighs the same as a 300 lb lard arse on a plane.

The need to take a seat and set it at the check-in kiosk. If you can sit in it without overflowing into the space on each side, you get on with one ticket.

If you overflow, you must buy two seats. The space my seat occupies from floor to ceiling is mine. I paid for it.

Your lard arse overhanging in my space is BS.

offhand thats wrong but when you figure the logistics involved it makes sense that just like mailing shite, weight should determine what it costs to go somewhere on a plane

instead of the arbitrary cost for a ticket to go somewhere it should be a simple formula of your body and luggage weight, times the distance you are going to, equals cost of ticket

This is about over-grossing an aircraft not if you spill into the seat next to you.
