Remember this was all done to prevent the transmission of a cold which had a survival rate of 99.9996%. A virus which has very mild symptoms for anyone under the age of 18.

I can’t place all the blame on the pandemic. We should also recognize that now students know the correct pronouns to use, how climate change will kill us all, and we can blame all of life’s struggles on whitey.

Way to go government. You’re the best.

Billions of dollars spent on public education and we are moving in the wrong direction.

Obvious solution is to spend even more money on Education.

There will be a reckoning for what these people did.

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it will happen and it will be gloriously violent.

Don’t you get a 19.8 by bubbling in your name correctly?

This is because teachers are being forced to teach kids how to pass a state test... and not actually teach them

So teachers/school boards are failing at their jobs horrifically, and the solution is to pay the very people/system more money?

Then why were people desperately scrambling to find Ivermectin, Azithromycin and a myriad vitamins and minerals?

I probably would have got close to that had I taken the ACT instead of the SAT for that Duke talent search thing back in 7th grade That's terrible.

Also they are busy indoctrinating them them into marxist-fascism and grooming them for gender re-assignement and sexualization. That's a lot to do in a school year with a whole summer off. ACT scores are bound to suffer.

Yea but at least we have a lot of educators teaching kids about gay culture, transitioning, and having drag queen shows in the library.

Kids might be dumber but at least they are more cultured in sin.

How is it that the ACT scores have risen over the last 29 years?

Can’t attract quality employees without adequate compensation.

But the bigger issue isn’t the teachers. They were the same four years ago as they are now. The problem is the bad governmental planning during the pandemic and a society that is diminishing the value of an education.

For everyone here that promotes blue collar trade school over college, shouldn’t neglecting the ACT be celebrated? It is a shift in mindset, after all, from valuing skills useful for academia.

The worst part is that 19.8 is the average. That means (about) half the test takes did worse than that.

From the study the article refrences

quote:

“This is the fifth consecutive year of declines in average scores, a worrisome trend that began long before the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has persisted,” said ACT CEO Janet Godwin

Inner city schools that did "remote" education during the covid shutdown did no education at all. The end result, especially for the elementary age kids, is illiteracy.
