Vietnam vet Tom Chambers tells a harrowing story of one of his fellow soldiers in war who laid down his life for his brother. Need more stories like this is times of divison.

Most the retards protesting wouldn’t even know where to locate Vietnam on a map.

99% of them couldn't point out where their home state is on a map. Screw where Vietnam is, they would be confused trying to find home.

Great story. And absolutely true. We see fellow Soldiers, not a race.

Unfortunately, the left sees anything regarding honoring the ultimate sacrifice as nationalism.

Vietnam war escalation, brought to you by the same man who perpetrated the greatest vote buying program the world has ever seen, and laughed about it. In honor of his greatest achievement, the government named a stretch of freeway after him, how fitting.

Although the USMC probably had the toughest overall transition (their relatively smaller size, stronger traditions, etc.) with integration, once accomplished, their words always stuck with me - there weren't white or black marines, just light green and dark green marines.

One team, one fight.

Vietnam Tom! TYFYS. What was the political reasoning for even getting involved in Nam? (serious question).

The policy at the time was to stop the spread of Communism. Having communism in Cuba scared the hell out of the government

Exactly. The real stories of war are those of the relationships and sacrifice for each other on the ground. Those experiences are completely divorced from all the politics, narratives and bullshite of society. Its hard to recognize your differences when you hold each other's lives in your hands. Love all my dark green brothers and always will. We would never cross paths back in the world and would have nothing in common. Just like that gentlemen described, in my upbringing, I very rarely ever had occasion to interact with a black person whether it was family, school, church, neighborhood, etc. Now, I have more in common with them than I do my biological family. I have only given two Eulogies in my life. One for my grandfather and another before a bayonetted rifle, a pair of dirty boots and a set of dog tags in the desert in Anbar. He was one of the greatest Marines and men I ever met. He loved this country and his fellow Marines. Semper Fi.

I had a very close friend who flew Hueys in Nam. He had a degree in Math. He said that war was a bitch and that his dad told him it was worse than fighting the nazis during WW2.

Thank you for going where most men won't and defending what you believe in.
