Reading comprehension is not your strong suit, I see. It's certainly not intended to be some innocent fun as some have portrayed in this thread.

Holy drama queen. I think you have a very inflated impression of the importance of what you're doing and how much people actually care.

Also, it's not very Baptist to curse, or to push people towards satanic rituals, even just for entertainment and profit, but do what you do homie

A lot of people think they can play with demons...demons end up playing with them.

Hi Dwayne,

Have you been around since it was first at the AgCenter on campus, in the late 90's? Specifically the year y'all had the actor from Hellraiser at the front? I was an annual visitor, when I first got hooked, that year. 13th Gate was/is always amazing,

Having the tax credits for movies definitely added some awesome talent for sets, costumes & makeup. My mom (RIP) loved visiting every year. I still tell my husband I will bring him one year.

For the topic at hand, I have been to immersive experiences in NYC - 5 story buildings, where you could wander around, while "actors" gave a loose interpretation of something like "Alice in Wonderland". I "saw" Hamlet. You could choose to follow, interact, or just do your own thing. Pick up props, watch the story, or go to the bar and drink during a self-imposed break.

I haven't read the whole thread - but what seems to be offered is a theatrical experience. Not a part of the entry fee to the house. I wouldn't be interested, because there may be "gates" and depending on the individual, it could be very intense, in a different way from a "haunted house".

Mediums exist, in a much more "real" way. If I assume correctly, you are offering the feel of that seance experience, from a movie. Don't want to experience it, don't pay for it.

I'll go back and read now.

Whether a person believes in it or not, spiritual warfare is real. The enemy is real. When we open doors to the demonic, they don’t care if it was “just for fun.” Our approach to witchcraft as a “fun game” has been one of the greatest victories won by the kingdom of darkness in modern times - hiding in plain sight for unsuspecting victims.

Well, that's true tbf.

Such an asinine response. I can read just fine, thank you.

My comment was obviously directed at your flawed comparison. Fully immersing someone in a simulated supernatural encounter in a haunted house venue (which is a form of entertainment) and innocent fun aren’t mutually exclusive, your superstitious beliefs notwithstanding. Oh, and go frick yourself too.

Umm, aren’t you one who thinks that his simulated seance is someone not innocent fun and is opening the door to demonic possession? And you’re calling him a drama queen? Geez.

Ok, Father, now do a letter blasting the RC Church’s coverups and non-action on pedophiles — and wealthy people who donate tons of money for their defense funding.

I hope for all of your sakes, none of you or your children attend one of these. Evil is real, it exists and engaging with it, (whether you agree with this or not) gives it authority to enter your life and grants it permission/ authority to be there.

Seriously you might want to look at some of the comments floating around.
I do not have Facebook, or any other social media besides this (TigerDroppings) - so I’ve actually not seen any comments - nor do I want any harm to come to you or your employees.

But to prove that point, why don't YOU come down and visit ME at the haunted house and let me show you the heart and soul of the 13th Gate
no, thank you. My children have gone to the 13th gate, and I have a friend who worked for you for years there, I will not mention her name here. I am not ‘ignorant’ as to what you do, and I said information was given so parents can make the correct decisions for their kids. I am not spreading a one sided story - I actually took up for your establishment in a meeting and asserted it was only theatrics. However, you never know what kids will be swayed by - so parents need to know what’s out there.

Hence the information given to parents so they can make an informed decision regarding their children.

Trust me, I worked at a library during the Harry Potter craze - Catholics are the least you have to worry about. Even if you mean no harm, it doesn’t mean damage isn’t being done. Some kids can figure things out, some can’t.

If you're the same owner from the early 2000s, I wish you all the best of luck this year. You would always come down to The House of Shock, and we would all go up there to see you, never having a bad experience and always being professional in every way. Enjoy the season!

Laying down the gauntlet, if you will. I appreciate your responses here.

As a Catholic, growing up in the Latin Mass. it was never a game to even candidly "summon" a soul/spirit/angel. Did I watch movies that did the very thing? Of course, and I have always enjoyed watching from the fringe.

I was never interested in engaging in Ouija boards, tarot cards, mediums. It was forbidden by my Faith. An while some posters might find that engaging, I don't. Opening yourself to...well, never mind, she will just be snarky.
