Kyle Lauletta, QB Richmond

Based on his rising stock, probably won't make it to Day 2.

Well Day 1 is only the first round, how do you suppose we get him in the 2nd round if he doesn't make it to Day 2?

I doubt it. They would almost assuredly have to give away their 3rd round pick this year along with a 4th or high 5th (and maybe something else).

I don't think Lauletta is a guy you mortgage the draft for.

Is this a low-key "trade Ingram" thread?

Waste of a pick. Remember a couple of years, they wasted a 3rd round pick on a QB (I can't even remember his name.... Graves?) The window of opportunity is there to compete for a SB, w/ Brees as QB, the next 2 yrs. That means no pick can be wasted. 1st round -- if a good edge rusher is there at #27, like Davenport, grab him. If not, take DJ Moore if he's available. 3rd round -- grab an edge rusher if one wasn't taken in the 1st round (Carter? Hubbard? Sweat?) 4th round -- best available TE (Fumagalli?). 5th round -- OL and DL. 6th round LB and CB. 7th round - best available.

Nah... You don't expend assets to trade up and get an FCS QB in round 2. There's always next year.

End of the Draft rumors: I for one believe there’s credence to the idea that New England is willing to move up for a QB, but I’ve heard it both ways. Seattle, Minnesota, and Philly all want to move down badly. It likely won’t cost 27 OVR, but the Saints’ interest in Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta is very legit.

I hope whatever they see in Lauletta is something they've learned their lesson on in what failed with Garret Grayson.

Thanks. But I think my better roles were in Jurassic Park 2, Independence Day, Buckaroo Banzai and Earth Girls Are Easy.

As for Grayson, he never had the "it" factor that Lauletta has. The top QBs in this draft have the stronger arms. But confidence, accuracy and timing make up for a lot.

Yes. Absolutely. And only for that one player. It's exactly who they are targeting.
