Ingram at 49, tied with Deuce. He's also 216 yards shy of setting a new franchise rushing yard record.

Two great RB's for the Saints, but probably the most polarizing with how a large portion of this fan base feels about them. Deuce was generally loved during his time, and we have to deal with "trade Ingram" threads every year.

I hated when we drafted Deuce. We drafted Ricky Williams (giving up almost as many picks as it took to get Davenport) and he was an Ole Miss player who all the Ole Miss fans were crowing about for a year or two.

However, over time he became one of my favorite players. I even go to his restaurant on occasion and grab a beer.

Most of the hate for Ingram stems from 1) he’s from bama, 2) we moved up in the draft to pick him and 3) he had a slow start to his career. Insane to think he’s actually tied Dueces record and about to be the Saints all time rushing leader. He seems to be a good locker room guy and is a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee.

Good for Ingram.

Nah. Deuce was great as a pass catcher and added bulk once he became the the primary back cause that's how the game was. If we had drafted Deuce into Drew and Sean's offense he's a top 5 back in the league and a lock for 1400 total yds and 12 TDs year.

Deuce was bigger, stronger and faster (He ran a 4.41) and had very soft hands. He could take it to the house, but he could also move the pile by himself. Deuce also didn't benefit from a superior passing game, in that those 4.3 YPC were earned against a defense knowing he was the featured back. I love Ingram's passion, but if my life depended on getting four yards, Deuce gets the carry.

In what way was Deuce better? Ingram is a better runner, blocker and receiver. The numbers support it.

Numbers don't always tell the whole story. Deuce spent most of his time in a far less dynamic offense. I don't know who's better. Both are all-time greats for this franchise so it isn't worth making too much fuss about, but Deuce was a pretty damn incredible back. I think people may be forgetting how much of a focal point he was to this offense.

Ingram is only polarizing bc he went to Alabama. If he'd gone to Michigan State literally none of those idiotic weekly threads bitching about him ever get posted.

Ingram is essential to this team. His stats prove it, but his attitude, especially once Kamara arrived, shows that he is one of the most important Saints to put on the uniform.

I'm calling bullshite. Ingram is very good but Deuce was the best running back the Saints ever saw. 9 straight 100yd games. If Deuce doesn't tear his ACL, Ingram doesn't touch his his numbers. I love Ingram but he is not better than Deuce McCallister.

If he's on your fantasy team, you gotta factor this into production. He hungry and CSP will feed him
