Raiders have released former Saints’ and Ravens’ WR Willie Snead, who “wasn’t playing much and asked for the release,” per his agent @DrewJRosenhaus. “There will be a market for him.”

He’s a saint for sure
But we probably need a real receiver that isn’t getting cut. Hopefully we make a move before the deadline

I always wonder why his career just reversed trajectory in his 3rd year. Pretty bizarre.

I remember the DUI but his usage was never the same after NO.

Def pretty weird, but Michael Thomas was really starting to catch on by that point and we had just traded away Cooks, which prob didn't help with spacing the field for Snead.

I foresee a collusion accusation for the Saints in the near future if they bring him back

Not sure if Payton likes him much. He was DEEP in the dog house in his final season.

No receiver was the same after they left. Brees made all of them.

This cant be said enough. Our current receiver group with a 2012 Brees would probably be top 5. Something to be said for a receiver that can simply run their route and have the ball dropped into their lap routinely.

I’ve wondered the same.

I still think he is capable of being productive for at least a season or two.

Willie was in the right place at the right time with Brees/CSP, stayed healthy, and had production. In a league where everybody is talented, so much of it is about timing/circumstance.
