Will this cost Drew the Hall?

I do not think it should, but asking. Crazy times. Don't reply whether it should cost him the hall or not, reply whether it WILL cost him the hall or not.

if Michael Irvin can get into the Hall of Fame after getting caught with cocaine and hookers in hotel rooms, I think Drew Brees will be okay

Yeah. The guy who has rebuilt schools, athletic facilities, involved in countless other community programs, and who just donated 5M dollars to the poor and disenfranchised of the city for meals during the pandemic is a real piece of shite for feeling the national anthem is sacred and being consistent about those feelings for years.
The guy has literally knelt with his teammates for this very cause at other times.
He is the all time nfl passing leader.

There are two ways out of this for Drew. He can either stand his ground and get cut, or he will write a multimillion dollar check out of extortion. One of the two will happen.

cooler heads will prevail in a few days/weeks. Drew will offer some mitigating statements and point to his good deeds. One can actually not agree with kneeling at the flag and still not be racist. It is actually possible.
