If they were smart. But if they were smart, they would have blown it all up earlier and started over

Blown up the deepest roster in the nfl?

You blow it up when you are terrible and have a few big names to rebuild. The saints are a good QB away from contending for a super bowl every single year

That would be dumb.

We know what we have in Thomas. You could get a total bust with a first rounder.

Nobody’s gonna take on that contract AND give up a 1st rounder. With all their picks and the fact that it typically takes even the best QBs a few years to be playing at a high enough level to compete for a Super Bowl, Jacksonville would be much better off drafting a WR to grow with Lawrence. Imho, of course.

That will be one of the interesting things to see with Urban. Can he identify pro talent or hire guys who can? A great college player doesn’t necessarily translate to the NFL. A lesson we learned with Spurrier in D.C. If they hit on most of those early picks, they could be in the AFC mix in 3 years. If they whiff, Urban’s brain issues will flare up again.

It might not be the popular opinion but I really hope they do I’d love to see the Saints trade Thomas for a first round pick , almost tear everything down and start over

Thomas ain't going anywhere. If we really want to go QB in the draft then someone will be there at 28.

I’d trade him for a high second rounder if I had someone i coveted in the draft available at that point

Jags are gonna get their qb and work on their defense. You can bank on it.

Would actually be a pretty damn good move by them. Thomas is what, 4 year vet? Pair him up with a young QB to be a leader and give Saints cap relief.

Most important thing to me for the Saints is to protect the oline and get a true complement to 41.

Maybe a Teen pick (13-19) , I doubt we could get anything else for Thomas without giving up draft picks
