Along with the listening devices in the opponents coaching booths.

And if the Saints really wanted to keep Nicks, they would have found a way to do it.
They decided straight away that they didn't want to hand out a big money contract to a player with maturity issues.

That was the same reason he fell so far in the draft in the first place because he was given a 1st-2nd round talent grade.

And they didn't really pay Grubbs game-changer type money. He got $10mil less than Nicks I believe. It might have been a slight overpay, but he was a solid replacement for the lesser price tag.

The maturity argument is the only thing I ceded to them for letting him go. They were the only ones in a position to really know who the kid was.

I really wish he would have been able to play these past couple of yrs so we could see whether it was an issue or not. Unfortunately it would have been in our division.

However, I still have trust in mickey and it's not even close, just worried about o-line. Usually a team goes as the o-line does

ETA:
I'd compare it to the Graham thing right now. Only loomis and SP and others inside the organization really know to what % his foot injury played in him falling off the earth in the second half of the season. You know it was a huge factor, but who knows

While Loomis may be one helluva bean counter, I'm not impressed with the track record of our 1st round picks working out

Seems to have turned it around. And they've more than made up for it with their other picks

Even worse in Oakland is that owner Davis Jr. came in and nixed the trade. (Even tho in this case, he prolly avoided overpaying a player) What a front office in disarray. We better be thankful that Benson is so old that he knows better than to stick his nose into the specifics of running the team.

Usually you can equate poorness with the amount an owner has his hands in the team cookie jar. Who comes to mind first? Jerrah & Dan Snyder leave no doubt how much they want to win. They also are the best examples of leaving the football operations to the actual football peeps.
