Apology in advance if this has already been discussed; I can't find a reference .

Why was there no extra point try at the end of the Mia-Pats game? The game ended with the TD which gave Miami a one point lead. As far as I can tell there was no interest in making the teams line up for the PAT, unlike the BS in Minnie last January. I was watching the game in a sports bar and maybe the game was cut off before the attempt and Miami missed the extra point?

Pretty big deal because the Patriots could have conceivably scored two points on the extra play. Probably as likely as Miami's touchdown at the end of the game.

Dolphins wouldn’t have kicked.

Miami would have just "gone for 2" and kneeled it.

Doesn't change the ability to score two points on the play if the snap is mishandled. See Chargers v. Chiefs in 2011.

The NFL in a rare moment of wisdom does not force a team who just won the game to risk losing it with no time on the clock.

Kind of like a walk off run in baseball.

they dont have an untimed extra point attempt unless its needed to decide who wins or ties, has been this way forever

no, because they arent morons and would simply kneel down and walk off winners, thats why they dont bother with another play unless its needed

Wrong. This is a new rule change.

ETA: You really are kind of retarded.

Well this is only true if you started watching the NFL this year. Otherwise you're completely wrong.
