His persona, it's one of those things where we, at least overall, love the shite out of him but I can see why other fans dislike him. He is cocky, gets riled up during the games more than other coaches. At least that's how it always seems, in reality, I think Payton, overall, is pretty focused during tense moments, aside from Thursday night Falcons game.

I like him and think he's a helluva coach. Just answering why people hate him. It seems natural. In sports, people hate smug, successful people who aren't connected to their team. The drug stuff is pretty concerning, and it launched a DEA investigation that Joe Vitt probably lied to cover up.
