Rusty Nail has a nice set-up with a tent and food trucks
Urban South is also a solid choice with excellent beer and boiled shrimp. It's also kid and dog friendly.
Vic's and Lucy's will have big crowds.
I also like Gordon Biersch. Decent beer, near the casino, and a good crowd.
In the French Quarter I'm a huge fan of Cosimo's. Lots of locals and always a good time.

It’s going to be freezing downtown with a 30 mph north wind blowing between those buildings.

Has been packed the last few times but it’s a Pro Saints crowd and if you get a spot at the bar don’t give it up. Probably the best place to sit over there as well. Not a bad spot at all.

Always a good crowd, rarely packed, at Monkey Hill on Magazine. Couch seating for the projector & cold beer.

I always like Cooter Browns on Carrollton but that's just me.
