A team that starts off winning their first 18 games in a row, but loses their last game in the Super Bowl.

Or...

A team that loses their first game of the season, then wins 18 in a row, with their last win garnering a Super Bowl trophy?

The majority of NFL fans still subjectively rate the 2007 Pats as one of the Greatest Teams of All-Team, despite objectively acknowledging the Giants own that season's championship hardware. It's the feat of the oh-so-close-undefeated-season with an 18-win out-of-the-gate start that almost drove the '72 Dolphins not too drink that makes the majority of NFL fans still claim the Pats were the better team, both over the '07 Giants & the '72 Dolphins.

I contend a team winning 18 in-a-row and bringing home the championship hardware would be a far more impressive feat and should cement that team as one of the Greatest, if not The Greatest Team of All-Time.

Ask the 2007 Patriots, they rather be 18-1 with a ring than 18-1 without.

It's just a shame that what could be the most impressive streak of all-time won't get the fanfare it deserves until after it's accomplished because the future is unforeseen.

Whereas, the 18-win perfect start got so much daily worship that the pre-mature king-crowning still clouds the historical perspective in some minds that the Pats were ultimately losers.

Yet, there's a realistic chance a team this year could accomplish a mind-boggling 18-game win-streak, ending with a ring, and even it's own fan-base doesn't recognize the historical impact until after it materializes.

During that streak there's literally one win margin greater than 14, and that was against a pathetic Bills teams.

We can top that.
