What is Eli Apple's status?

He signed with the Raiders. 1 year deal, 6 mil guaranteed.

Too much money for us to sign him as our backup outside CB. Good deal for him though.

We still do need a backup outside CB. Still some good options to choose from in free agency, & we could also use the draft to fill this void.

We have PRob, but I think he's a backup slot CB that can play outside in case of an emergency. I think that XFL guy that we signed yesterday is probably going to play the slot as well. Not positive though. Hardee is the only other CB we have, & he's basically just here for special teams.

this is great news

i had hopes he was a great upgrade from crowely but turned out to be equally as bad and if he was any upgrade at all its only a few digits in a category way down on a stat sheet

i get people saying who are you gonna replace him with but the real question is do you want a team of players that get beat regularly at will especially when the game is on the line

hopefully pj and marcus williams also find new teams so we are better for it since those making player evaluations heaping praise on these players need glasses

teams convert 3rd and longs way too easy on us and its due to a lot more then play schemes, its the players making mistakes and being out of position

I'll give you PJ Williams, but Marcus Williams isn't a problem in coverage imo. He does need to improve his tackling though.

This is the last year of Marcus Williams' audition for us. He either earns a new contract or he doesn't.

For the record my post was also designed to spark discussion of whether Apple was signed and if not whether it was a prudent or viable option to sign him even in a backup role.
