He will undoubtedly be on the trading block this year. At 33 years old he still has tread on the tires, and has never had a coach like Sean Payton

He's a solid QB that has been held back by coaching. With that said, I have to think he's going to be too rich for my blood.

For years now, I always felt like he would/should be a target of the Saints.

He kneels for the anthem. I’m out.

This coming year? Because this year's trade deadline has passed.

But we don't have the cap room to get him next year. We could get him in 2022.

We will have the cap room if Drew retires, correct?

Big arm. Ehh accuracy. Holds the ball to long. Not athletic and takes hit which keeps him injured.

He’s on the downside of his career. I only see him playing another two, maybe three years. I’d rather go for a younger guy like Carr (29) or Jacoby Brissett (26).

2 or 3 years with a veteran qb keeps us in contention. We are stacked right now and need to win immediately

We'll end up with Matt Ryan.

No. We have a lot of bonus money on the cap for him whether he stays or goes.

I’d rather find a long term guy. He’s not good enough and he’s getting old

Would be worth a look I think. If he wants only top dollar we won't be on his list but if not...

He's played in the NFL for a decade without a playoff win. I'll pass.

He played really well last year until he got hurt but is having a down year this year. I would be ok with it. He is a tough competitor

We could do that with a guy like Carr, Brissett or Bridgewater just as much as a guy like Stanford. Stanford is too inaccurate, oft-injured and takes too many chances.

Doesn’t matter because we can’t afford him next year anyway.

That's true but it's not Matt Stafford vs 1 guy on the opposite team.

Detroit has sucked arse for so long. The coaching, the ownership, the players, etc have been horrible surrounding him. He was always in a bad position. Calvin Johnson retired early because he knew Detroit would never win. That's not Matt's fault.

If you compare him to the best QBs vs winning teams, he us right there with them except Brady. That's the exception. That 5-46 record vs winning teams is BS. He's done as good as the best QBs because some of those teams were winning at the time they played and at the end of the year ended up 7-9 or something.

Stafford in the Saints offense could be decent. It wouldnt be worse than Detroit.

I was of the opinion a few years ago that I wouldn’t mind just sucking for a year if it got us a guy that could lead us the next 15. But now, this team is to good to not have someone that can step into Drew’s shoes immediately. If we have to give up a few firsts to do so, so be it.
