LB, WR, pass rusher, maybe a TE if right fit. And of course, OL. Keep depth there.

Defensive linemen

Linebackers with speed and good coverage skills

Strong safety

Maybe another CB

Speed receiver

Offensive linemen for depth

Tight end

I know we can't fill all of those needs in the draft so I'm hoping we can fill as many as possible in free agency leading up to it.

I think you have WR too low. Thomas is great but Ginn/Coleman/Snead ain't gettin' it done

The Carolina game exposed them IMO

i guess my thing is that i don't think we should burn a first rounder on them. third round receivers are had every year that are game breakers.

i'd rather get a "surething" OL, DL, edge rusher. best player/value avail.

That's fair, but knowing Payton as we do, I wouldn't be surprised to see him reach into the 20's for a Cooks

Yeah feels like BPA unless someone he likes falls into the early 20s

Ginn was getting it done just fine, but age is the concern there. He still has it for at least another year though.

If you don't think Snead can return to form then we definitely need a third guy. Coleman is okay and TLL can make maybe a play each game, but they shouldn't be counted on in the passing game.

TE depends on what we do with Fleener and how the draft falls out. I don't think it's something we target in the first (and we have no second).

Imo we still have one most glaring need we've had since we lost Vilma.

Hopefully Okafor can be resigned fairly cheap $5 mil per or less). If not then DE needs to really be looked at.

And of course Oline depth is always an issue, but this will really depend on if we keep Strief and retain Kelemete.

Safety is as much a need if you think Bell will keep improving. It's definitely a spot that can be upgraded, but imo CB is a more important need as I feel PJ can be upgraded more than Bell.

Of course that depends on Vaccaro too. He basically fills both nickel and box safety roles, but if we don't keep him I think CB is more important (unless we find another hybrid).

I don't think we should overlook DT either. They played pretty well and Rankins, Davison, and Onyemata all improved throughout the year, but if we can get a dominant gap filling DT we should jump on it.

So my ranking would be:

Pass Coverage LB (or preferably a combo LB but those are hard to come by; Klein and Te'o can fill in on run downs).

DE (which again depends on Okafor and what's available when we draft)

TE (Fleener and Hill "get the job done", but having a dynamic player would go a long way to helping Brees in his last years).

WR (depends on how they feel about Snead; if they want to move on this shoots over TE, but if he stays and plays well this may move down a spot or two; Ginn is aging so we should still be looking though)

OL depth (if we lose Kelemete we are in a bad spot and this shoots up about even with DE; even if Strief returns it's very likely his last year)

DT (a gap stuffer can go a long way to helping against the run and taking double teams; I really like our group now though, which is why this isn"t higher, but only Rankins in our current group can consistently command doubles and that takes away from what he does best)

CB (can never have to many and if we lose Vaccaro we should look to upgrade over PJ)

S (to upgrade over Bell, but he's improving)

I’d rather a TE than a WR. Drew is at his best when he can attack the middle of the field, he hasn’t had that this year.

If we go LB I hope it’s a Deion Jones type who has the speed to make a difference.

Ideally we are able to land Baker Mayfield.
