What do people get out of making "We suck" threads?

I mean, we're all pissed off. We all know the Saints are playing like crap right now. We also know that 10-3 teams don't get to that mark by accident. We are not a bad football team. Even if we lose (and contrary to popular belief, this game ain't over), that doesn't change.

So honest question. Does it make the viewing experience better to trash talk your own team? If so, maybe I need to try it sometimes.
