Tomorrow marks a massive 10 year anniversary...

One of the best games in Saints history, the MNF 35-17 spanking of the Patriots... LINK
No link but followed by easily the greatest Saints post game show in history.

Man, I hate to say it, but Brees was ripping throws down field back then. Its really obvious when you haven't seen those highlights in 10 years and compare it to this year.

Yeah well we all age and get better at our strengths so Drew is fine and can manage us to a SuperBowl

Belicheck legit gave up in the third quarter of that game.

quite a few things have changed since then:
payton no longer game plans, he doesnt draw up plays specific to the next team he faces and to expose and take advantage of mismatches, he leaves that up to his offensive coordinator to do now and thats why we no longer draw up plays specific to the next team he faces and to expose and take advantage of mismatches, we just draw up plays we hope will work against "most teams" and nothing much changes based on the opponent
we also dont run or run sparingly and mostly just to kill clock at the end of games
we dont have a game plan designed to get even average at best receivers open, we just hope they can get open, but they cant because they are only average at best so drew has only MT and in a few rare cases a target to ginn or jared who drop 2 out of 3 balls thrown to them
lastly, when williams was here he had our D ready to play and they played hard and dominated on the field or road the bench. with DA they rarely play their best

It helped that we had guys like Devery and Meachem that could take the top off defenses.
It’s also nice to be reminded how good Pierre Thomas was in that offense. Was a perfect fit.

That was the greatest post game show ever, or at least in the post Buddy D. era. Bobby has the reputation - at least on this board - for having a cocktail or two during the show. I think he earned that reputation on this night. He was completely out of control, but it was hilarious.

Hebert comparing the Saints to the German Blitzkrieg and talking about them taking peoples' wives is one of the greatest postgames in NFL history

Black and gold ninjas, baby. Dey comin' for your wife and kids.
If there was a way that someone could pull that post game thread out of the mothballs, I'd be very grateful.
