This is on Cook. Please don't make the mistake of looking anywhere else.

Cook is low football IQ at its worst. There are few times when you can narrow it down to just one player but this is one of those times.

Yes and no.
Brees is culprit 1B then. He sucked.
DL is 1C

I kind of blame Cook, too. Saints were driving and were going to stomp on the Bucs' neck before that fumble. Brees was awful post fumble, though.

We were still in the drivers seat to win the game long after those two early Brees turnovers.

We were driving down at will to extend the lead and had a ton of momentum.

All of that momentum left as soon as Cook decided not to protect the ball.

man please this is on the GM Brees has been done for years. This is a business and they made bad business decisions and over paid an aging QB at a time when we could have won two more superbowls

Deonte Harris' injury was HUGE

not only b/c he had already run back 2 punts basically all the way... but he was killing it in the receiving game too

everything stagnated once Harris left the game

Did the defense give up a touchdown when the Bucs didn’t start in Saints territory off a turnover?

Agreed
you saw the whole team deflate after that fumble turned into 6 for TB.
Same as the no call in the NFCCG... we still had plenty of changces to win that game but the no call took it all out of us

How many catches/yards did Mike Thomas have? Sacks or pressures from Cam or Hendrickson? Defense was ok, rest of team was shite

Yes but if Brees didn’t throw all those INTs, that Cook fumble wouldn’t have mattered anyway. You’re also not taking into account that because Brees can’t go deep anymore, TB was stacking the box a lot.

If we go up 14 points, He throws 2 less picks not forcing the ball...and we keep momentum. Loss is 100% on Cook.

He also threw his first pick that was essentially a pick six.

Loss is 100% on Cook.

Absolutely stupid and everyone that agrees with this blind. Brees still had a pretty bad game. He couldn’t get anything down the field so they stacked the box. He also had 2 more picks that were dropped. The DL couldn’t get any pressure.

Cook sucks and I don’t want to see him again. But the game had plenty of mistakes before him and after. Saying it’s 100% on him is taking the blame off everyone else. You have no idea if Brees wouldn’t have forced more throws. He’s done it before. The game was far over.

I guess some people can’t help but have an all of nothing approaches to everything. It’s totally possible to blame more then one person, and still give one person the most blame.

When he caught that ball I thought he was about to fumble it, just from the way he held it

It’s absolutely inexcusable for a giant veteran to let a tiny rookie take away that ball.
