They just weren't ready today

I thought this team would be fired up and focused today. Back home for first true home game of the regular season. A week in their own beds and their own facility. First big crowd since January 2020 - almost two years.

From the start... they just were not focused and ready to play.

I wonder maybe if what we thought was a positive - getting back home - was a negative.

Maybe they had settled into a routine in Dallas and this disrupted it.

Maybe their wives / girlfriends / boys were nagging them too much (the fat little girlfriends problem Mike Leach likes to talk about).

Every season, Sean has a game or two that we lose inexplicably to a crappy team. Maybe this will be that one for 2021.

I’ve come to the realization that we’re not good.
We’re an 8-8 team.

Sean bought them all yo-yo’s.

If that doesn’t get you focused and fired up, nothing will.

Everyone knew we were going back to mediocrity after drew. Look at New England without Brady

Did you not watch the game? We were up 21-10 and couldn't sustain our last two offensive drives. Defense shite the bed after playing lights out for 3 quarters. We were ready, just didn't execute at the end.

A team that is not ready gets blown out 26-7 in Carolina.

We were up 21-10. Defense faltered late and Payton made some really bad decisions ie the 58yd fg attempt, bad challenge that cost us a timeout where being right would've made little if any difference and a bad timeout on 3rd down. Putting Taysom in to throw a deep ball when Winston appeared to be getting into a rhythm. He doesn't have a feel for this team yet, he doesn't trust Winston, we don't have enough firepower at WR without Thomas, the defense is good but not Top 5 without Davenport and Onyemata. I do think this particular teams best days are ahead, we have major pieces coming back and hopefully Payton figures out the offense more and more each week. Losing this one to the Giants at home will hurt when we have 9-10 wins and should've had 11.
