Not sure how it compares to the rest of the league, but with the way the Saints find depth and players who actually contribute after the draft is nothing shorth of spectacular.

Just look at yesterday:

Tony Jones Jr. - 2020 UDFA
Deonte Harris - 2019 UDFA
Juwan Johnson - 2020 UDFA
Marquez Callaway - 2020 UDFA
Calvin Throckmortin - 2020 UDFA

And I know the defense had a few UDFAs who contributed to the win yesterday.

And it's been that way for over a decade. Insane to think about.

The scouting department is one of the best, if not the best in the NFL. Bringing in Jeff Ireland pushed the front office to another level because he brough in an eye for defensive talent.

It's crazy to think we beat the Packers with a bunch of no-name WRs and TEs.

There is an obvious blueprint for us when looking in at UDFA

Higher floor, lower ceiling types. High character and hard workers. Guys who produced in college but didn’t necessarily show out with athletic testing

Hat tip to the staff for putting them in positions to succeed as well

Those free agent signings are more important than any 5-7 round draft pick

The Saints have an uncanny ability to locate WRs, RBs, OL, and DTs. I have 0 explanation for it, but whatever they do, it works. Before recently we couldn’t find a DB or LB that didn’t cost a high draft pick or a boatload of cash to save our lives, and even then we weren’t terribly successful. It looks like we’ve figured that out too.

add their eye for talent thats playing out of position in colleges. Juwan Johnson is a recent example, but we've seen the Saints work miracles shifting ho-hum college tackles and turning them into all-world NFL guards.

Not to mention these guys are dirt cheap which allows you to sign and re-sign your “we’ll-known” high-end players. You can’t fill all these holes and add all this depth in free agency AND keep many of your core guys.

11 undrafted free agents made the 53 man roster, that's speaks volume about the scouting and coaches ability to spot talent.
