The Saints Defense Is Good Again, and That Should Terrify the Rest of the NFL

There’s an old saying that you never get a second chance to make a first impression. For many, it’s been tough to shake the image of a porous Saints defense getting torched by the Buccaneers in the team’s Week 1 loss, surrendering 529 yards and 48 points in a shocking display of ineptitude. New Orleans obviously rebounded from that dud with a vindicating 28-14 win last Sunday against Tampa Bay. The victory pushed the Saints to 11-2 and clinched them their second consecutive NFC South title—but it’s been Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and the team’s incredibly explosive offense, not the defense, that’s gotten most of the credit along the way.

I'm glad that the Saints defense is getting some good publicity.

Cam Jordan has been absolutely phenomenal lately...he was already great, but these last 4 weeks he has been insane

We got Fitzmagic’d. Others did too including the champs.

The D responded well and has gotten better as the season goes along. That’s a great sign.

As awesome as Brees is -- and he is most certainly the best to ever put on a Saints jersey -- the most exciting thing about this team is the running game and rise of the defense. That is what gives us a really good shot against any of our opponents, including Chicago.

I think the Lambs are a good pick, out of all of the division winners in either conference, to lose in the divisional round. Their defense is not keeping pace with the rest of the division winners.
