The Brady game that really grinds my gearsPosted by St Jean The Baptiste

The 2013 NO vs NE game.
I was watching it on Sunday Ticket, waited all week to watch it, and the Saints played a badass game.
Even late in the fourth quarter, the defense stopped them twice on fourth down. The problem? Our friggin’ offense couldn’t get a first down and run the clock out. All we needed was one first down on either drive and we couldn’t get it. We gave it to Brady with hardly any time left and no time outs and our defense couldn’t stop them a third time.

I was there and the game still haunts me.
Things got a little tense in the stands between us who dats and their shite talking fans. Fortunately the vast majority of their fans had already left when Brady made the comeback.

Also the game with one of the most horrendous missed holding calls in the Pats go ahead touchdown....still can see it ingrained in my mind.

is that the one where Junior Galette was being held like a mofo on the final TD pass?

Yes - on mobile, so pics not working but you can google saints patriots holding and it’s the very first result haha. That’s a defining missed call in the series.

This game and the end of one of the Panthers games where Malcolm Jenkins missed an easy sack and Scam threw a TD in the back left of the endzone still haunt me.

Lol yeah I remember that one. Should have been a sack right before he threw the TD. Junior Gallette was put in a rear naked choke by the Patriots lineman and ref refused to call it.

That basically won/lost the division in 2013, didn't it?
If that's the one, it moved us from the 2-seed to the 6-seed.

We were there. Started out as such an amazing trip. Watched LSU / Florida at a rooftop by by Fenway park and won money on LSU. Then got seats for ALCS Detroit / Boston right behind home plate for a STEAL because the weather was so bad. Won money on Tigers great pitching duel 1-0.
Next day we ride out to Foxboro - 50 yard line. My birthday weekend. Had like $2000 on Saints moneyline to win $5500 or so.
My buddy congratulated me during the last timeout before Brady's amazing throw. "How much money did you win again?!?" Saints fans had congregated behind team bench and had been doing "Who Dat?" chant for a few minutes. The game seemed totally over. I have never re-watched it so I'm not sure how Payton's mismanagement effed us to this day, but I remember it wasn't just the Brady pass because we wouldn't have been celebrating and doing "who dat?" chants if the Patriots had a decent shot from like the 30 yard line. We must have really messed up to even allow them that shot.
Brutal trainride back to Boston with all the Patriots fans teasing us for an hour or so - I remember this fairly attractive Saints girl was by herself and I tried chatting her up on the ride back and she was clearly not interested. Then we go out to a depressing dinner and I had money on the Detroit Tigers and Big Papi hits a walk off 3 run dong and crushes me further.

Yup, fricking bull shite. That year felt like wasted potential. Also, would've been badass if we got that lateral to work against Seattle in the playoffs.

There was a terrible call on us for unnecessary roughness on a huge third down incompletion and I remember exchanging "WTF?!?!" gestures with Jim and Hokie in their WWL booth as I was running up the stairs to go take a leak. Think we even exchanged words becasue their booth was open - it was a beautiful day probably like 55 degrees.
Really fun trip except for the end of the game.
